What Is Closing the Bones?
Closing the Bones is a slow, intentional, ceremonial practice that uses touch, wrapping, rhythm and sound to support the body’s natural ability to reorganise and return to balance.
It is a ritual that listens to the body and follows its pace.
What Happens During a Closing the Bones Ceremony
Each session is deeply held and guided by the needs of the body on the day.
The ceremony includes:
Grounding full-body rebozo massage, with focused hands-on abdominal work to support energetic closing
Rocking, rhythmic movement and holding – allowing the nervous system to downshift and the body to reset.
Wrapping and gentle compression with 100% cotton rebozos, placed around the head, shoulders, ribs, hips, legs and feet to create safety and containment.
Drumming, rattling, sound and energy work – interwoven with moments of deep stillness to support regulation, release and integration.
Through wrapping, rhythm and stillness, the body is supported to gather energy back in, settle deeply and restore a sense of wholeness and ease.
This is not forceful work.
The body leads.

Who This Ceremony Is For
Closing the Bones for Women
For women, this ceremony honours postpartum recovery as well as the many life portals women move through — endings, initiations, losses and rebirths. It offers a space to be held, gathered and supported during times of transition, whether after birth or at any point where life has asked you to open.
Closing the Bones for Men
For men, Closing the Bones supports integration after trauma, grief, illness, intense responsibility and major life transitions. It offers containment, rest and a rare opportunity for the body to soften, release and reset in a grounded and supportive environment.
Closing the Bones for Children
For children, this ceremony supports grounding and nervous system regulation after big changes such as birth, illness, loss, relocation or emotional overwhelm. The gentle holding, wrapping and rhythm help create safety and allow the body to settle naturally.
People often describe a Closing the Bones ceremony as a deep exhale — a feeling of finally landing back in their body and being gathered again.
If life opened you and your body is still waiting for closure, this ritual offers a way home.
